On Friday afternoon Mark Deuze gave a public college – een oratie – to the university of Leiden on the occasion of his appointment as professor journalism and new media (since March 2007).
The title gave me the creeps: “Guerilla Stores, the Soco Experiment, and a next Big Bang: about the role of new media and the future of journalism in a modern fluid society”. But it was good fun listening to Marks enthusiastic ideas, anecdotes and statements. As always, he gave food for thoughts.
