Yesterday the Dutch Media Ombudsman was launched. The foundation is an initiative of a group of journalists. The foundation is committed to independent and high-quality news in the Netherlands. First, by argument to take action on structural issues of journalistic ethics. Secondly, determine through scientific research how Dutch journalism can answer properly on increasing demand for self-regulation.
A brave and very ambitious initiative, that I will follow closely. Unfortunately their website is rather skinny and not developed. Not yet.
